Adventures in Amplitude Modulated Noise

This project is an exploration of the amplitude modulated noise produced by the propellers of most ships. It begins with an explanation of how propellers produce this type of sound. Next the DEMON algorithm is introduced as a way to observe the frequencies which modulate the noise produced by propellers. Other algorithms and techniques are also introduced.

Cavitation and the Creation of Amplitude Modulated Noise

This module introduces the concept of cavitation and explain how propellers produce caviation. I will also explain the mechanism which gives rise to periodicity in the production of cavitation bubbles.
